Michael graduated from Penn State University and earned an MBA in Finance from a New York University. After a highly successful career on Wall Street and as vice president of a forest products corporation, in 1977 Michael founded Gobi Corporation, one of the first American

In 1998 Michael and Brenda Hart moved to Charleston, SC and from 2002-03 Michael served as president of the Snee Farm Community Foundation and played golf at the country club.
